Anthropic, the AI company behind the groundbreaking large language model Claude, has announced a partnership with Amazon Web Services (AWS) to host Claude on AWS’ infrastructure. This collaboration will accelerate the deployment of generative AI at an enterprise scale, allowing businesses to securely access one of the world’s safest and most capable AI models for a variety of tasks, from conversation to workflow automation.

Developed with Constitutional AI, Claude operates at the frontier of safety and performance, ensuring strict data privacy policies protect user data from being used for training the model. Claude can seamlessly handle complex multi-step instructions in a friendly, conversational manner and can be customized to speak in a user’s voice, boosting performance through prompt engineering.
Amazon Bedrock, a new service, will make Claude accessible within a customer’s own Virtual Private Cloud, ensuring data never leaves the secure environment. The service will integrate with Amazon SageMaker ML features like Experiments, providing businesses with the tools and capabilities needed to deploy scalable, reliable, and secure AI applications.
The limited preview of the service is set to launch by the end of May, with more details about product availability to be shared in the coming weeks. While the initial launch will not include streaming support, businesses can expect the same quality of response from Claude on AWS Bedrock as they would with Anthropic’s API.
Claude’s fine-tuning will not be offered as a service through AWS or other partners, but enterprises can work directly with Anthropic to customize the model and enhance its performance. Both the latest version of Claude and Claude-Instant are expected to be available through AWS Bedrock.
Pricing details for the model are still being finalized and will be shared at the end of May. For customer support queries, day-to-day support will be handled by AWS, with escalation to Anthropic as needed.
“We are excited about our partnership with AWS,” said Dr. Yoshua Bengio, co-founder of Anthropic. “This collaboration will enable us to bring our cutting-edge technology to more businesses around the world.”
This partnership between Anthropic and AWS marks a significant step forward in the development and deployment of generative AI technology for businesses worldwide.
