Bone & Joint Clinic, S.C. has announced that it has experienced a data security incident that may have involved personal and protected health information of current and former employees, as well as current and former patients. The clinic has notified potentially affected individuals and offered resources to assist them. The personal information potentially involved in the incident includes names, dates of birth, Social Security numbers, home addresses, phone numbers, health insurance information, and diagnosis and treatment information.
On or around January 27, 2023, it was discovered that certain personal information was present in the potentially affected data. Bone & Joint undertook extensive efforts to collect the required contact information to notify all those who may have been impacted and engaged relevant resources to offer notification and remediation services.
Bone & Joint has implemented measures to prevent similar incidents from happening in the future. The clinic is extending complimentary identity protection services for 12 months via IDX, a leading consumer identity protection provider. This offering includes dark web monitoring, identity theft insurance reimbursement policy, and fully managed identity theft recovery services.
